Why I Started Learning Tree Home Daycare:

🌳 A Place That Feels Like Home

Hi, I’m Sarah Cho — founder of Learning Tree Home Daycare.

I wanted to begin this blog by sharing the heart behind our program, and why Learning Tree is more than just a daycare — it’s a safe and nurturing home away from home for little ones.

When I immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 10, I had to learn a new language, adapt to a new culture, and find my way in unfamiliar environments. That experience shaped how deeply I value comfort, belonging, and trust — especially for young children navigating their earliest years.

After earning my degree from UCLA in International Development Studies, with a focus on education policy (and a second major in Asian Humanities), I went on to complete my legal education at Trinity Law School. During law school, my research centered on child exploitation in Southeast Asia. It was during this time that my passion for protecting and supporting children truly became clear.

But it wasn’t until I became a full-time working mom that Learning Tree Home Daycare was born. I understood the emotional and logistical struggle many working parents face — especially the desire for a reliable, loving place where your child is safe, cared for, and seen.

🌿 Our Vision at Learning Tree Home Daycare

In 2022, I opened Learning Tree with one simple but powerful vision:

To create a home-based environment where children are deeply cared for, and parents are confidently supported.

Here’s what makes us different:

  • Transparent Communication
Real-time updates through our app with photos, videos, and daily reports — because I know the peace it brings when you feel connected to your child’s day.

  • Warm, Family-Like Atmosphere
Children should feel like they’re with extended family — not in a cold or formal setting.

  • Play-Based, STEAM-Inspired Curriculum
Each day is filled with activities that engage curiosity and support whole-child development.

  • Healthy, Home-Cooked Meals
We serve nourishing Korean-inspired meals that reflect both love and culture.

🌱 Growing a Community of Care

Since opening Learning Tree Home Daycare, I’ve also had the privilege of mentoring other women to open their own home daycares.

Through training and guidance, we’re building a network of child-centered, heart-driven educators who provide the same level of care across communities.

💚 Thank You for Visiting

If you’re a parent looking for a place where your child can grow and thrive — or if you’re simply curious about our story — thank you for being here.

At Learning Tree Home Daycare, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and celebrated. That’s the promise we make to each family who joins us.

Warmly,
Sarah Cho
